MICHAEL SIMONE
PRESIDENT
When he was younger, Michael Simone wanted a career in plastics engineering. Then, he started learning more about the impact plastics had on the environment. He did a 180-degree turn and focused his energy on getting a business degree. While in college, he started helping out his brother Valentino at Target Steel. He eventually became the guy that would run right from his classes to do an afternoon shift at Target. And even though he never intended to go into the steel business, something happened.
“I knew I could be effective at Target,” says Simone. “I jumped up, took a shower, put on a suit and asked Val to hire me.” The brothers have never looked back, now co-running operations at both Target Steel and Target Metal Blanking. “I could not have had a better mentor than my brother,” says Michael Simone.
Simone has helped build the Target brand's customer service-driven operations and competitive pricing structure. He has led the company’s expansion efforts, taking Target’s customer base to a global market. He has also diversified mill programs and dedicated himself to maintaining a loyal, skilled staff and reliable business model. He has assisted in leading the company’s commitment to safe working conditions. He prides himself in achieving IATF and ISO quality certifications, and remains committed to complementing and accelerating Target Metal Blanking to success in the future.
Outside the office, Simone coached youth sports and mentors kids. He’s also an avid boater and golfer. He is married to Bethany, who, he says, “was an intricate part in pushing me to go to Target and pursue a career."”
